Chigwell Row is a small village in western Essex. Close by the encroaching edge of the metropolitan conurbation, its closest railway station London Underground station is Grange Hill tube station in Hainalt, a walk from the village.
A mile and a half to the west is Chigwell, while Hainault, a swollen village at the very edge of the conurbation, spreads out to the south, touching Chigwell Row. Hainault Forest, a small country park. is to the south-east and east.
