Chatton is a village in Northumberland, in the hills roughly four miles east of Wooler.
History
A rock overhang at nearby Ketley Crag has examples of prehistoric rock art petroglyphs, including a profusion of cup and ring marks, which have been described as "stunning".[1]
It is the site of Hetton Hall, owned by descendants of the soldier Sir Thomas Grey whose expolits were recorded in the Scalacronica chronicle.
Economy
The village has amenities which include a pub (the Percy Arms) and village shop.
