Cape Saunders is a headland which marks the north-west entrance point of Stromness Bay on the north coast of South Georgia.
The headland was discovered and charted on 17 January 1775 by James Cook, who named it after Admiral Sir Charles Saunders (1713?- 75), First Lord of the Admiralty in 1766, under whose command Cook had served in the St Lawrence River in 1759.
