Byron Sound

Byron Sound is a large fjord-like bay on the coast of West Falkland in the Falkland Islands, facing northwards between Saunders Island to the north and the north coast of West Falkland to the south.[1] It appears to be the glacially enlarged estuary of the Blackburn River.

One main settlement stands on the bay shore, namely Hill Cove.

The sound contains numerous islands. It is an open water between West Falkland and Saunders Island, but at its eastern end, if counted within the sound, between West Falkland and Keppel Island and Pebble Island, are many islands, large and small, not all of which are named.
