Buckna is a small village four miles east of Broughshane in County Antrim, close to Slemish mountain.
The name of the place is from the Gaelic language; Bochnach, meaning 'Hilly'[1] Previous forms of the name appearing on maps and in documents include Boughna (1669), Buckna (1780) and Bocnach (1832).
