Birling is a hamlet in Northumberland. It is situated immediately to the north of the village of Warkworth, across the bridge on the River Coquet, along the A1068 northwards.
There is a golf course between Birling and the sea, and the Northumberland Coast Path which hugs the high tide line. The Birling Carrs are a minor rock outcrop interrupting the long sweep of sand up between the mouths of the Coquet and the Aln.
