Benwiskin is a dramatic mountain amongst the Dartry Mountains of County Sligo.
The mountain has a stunning profile resembling a vast, breaking wave. It climbs to 1,686 feet at its highest point at the edge of the cliff of the wave, and stands at the northern end of a lengthy broad topped ridge forming one leg of the Gleniff horseshoe.
Ascent
The local estate now permits limited access to the mountain. It can be climbed, but is very steep and the top, a tooth at the edge of a plunging cliff beaten by Atlantic winds, is very dangerous.
