Beardown Tors, or Beardown Hill is a hill on Dartmoor in Devon, the summit of which has a broad scatter of the rocky outcrops or 'tors' which characterise Dartmoor's hill summits.

The hill is in the middle of the high moor, just north of Two Bridges, where the roads over the moor meet. The East Dart River and the Cowsic River flow below the eastern and western flanks of Beardown in deeply cut valleys, to join at the foot of the hill t Two Bridges.

Beardown is reckoned the fourteenth highest summit on the moor, with a height of 1,683 feet}.[1]

To the east below the hill, across the East Dart, is the unearthly woodland of Wistman's Wood.

Ascent

The hill is easily accessed: a path leads up from Two Bridges, west of the hotel, along and then across the Cowsic to Beardown Farm, then follows straight up to the summit.

The hilltop is though in a danger area and the army's noticeboards or website should be consulted as to whether live fire exercises are being carried out.
