Ballymacoda is a small village in the east of County Cork. The 2016 census recorded a village population of 185 people.
The village has one pub, a post office, and a Roman Catholic church named 'Saint Peter in Chains'.[1] This church was built between 1855 and 1865 and replaced an earlier church on the same site.

- Gaelic Athletics: Fr. O'Neill's GAA. The club fields hurling and Gaelic football teams.
About the village
The Ballymacoda Bay Special Protection Area and Ballymacoda Special Area of Conservation are protected wetlands, designated to be of importance under the Ramsar Convention and European Union legislation, located just north and east of the village.[2][3][4]
