Babel Rock

Babel Rock rises to 197 feet above sea level off the northern tip of Intercurrence Island, the largest of the Christiania Islands within the Palmer Archipelago, in the British Antarctic Territory.
This is the largest and most conspicuous of two rocks first charted and called 'Penguin Islands' by Hoseason in 1824. Following air photography by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition in 1956, the feature was named Babel Rock in reference to the ceaseless noise from a penguin rookery on this site.
