Arrol Icefall

Arrol Icefall is a steep icefall about 3 nautical miles long, originating on the south side of Detroit Plateau at the southern end of Detroit Plateau on the Nordenskjöld Coast. It is about 8 nautical miles north-west of Cape Worsley.

Following survey by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from "Hope Bay" in 1960-61, it was named in association with the names of oversnow vehicles grouped in this area, was named after the ArrolJohnston car, which was adapted for experimental use by the British Antarctic Expedition of 1907-1909 under Sir Ernest Shackleton: it was the first mechanical transport used in the Antarctic.
