The Ape's Den is a place on the Upper Rock in Gibraltar much frequented by the famous apes of Gibraltar, and where visitors come to encounter them. The availability of oranges left here for the apes is a considerable draw.
The site is above the Queen's Gate, at the middle station of the cable car, and is frequented by the Queen's Gate Troop of apes.
Although feeding the apes is forbidden by law, they are crafty beasts and brazenly steal food from visitors in ingenious ways. They will interact with visitors at the Ape's Den, frequently climbing over them, and robbing them, but the apes remain wild animals, with all that implies.
