Abernant is a hamlet in Brecknockshire six miles south of Builth Wells on the A470 trunk road. It is situated on the right bank of the River Wye which here forms the county border with Radnorshire.
A spring forms above Abernant, near the summit of Banc y Celyn (1,548 ft) and runs through Abernant to join the Wye.There is a large adventure centre, a branch of Manor Adventure, that operates from an old hotel in Abernant.
There is also a mine in the hills outside the village.
