Drygalski Fjord

Drygalski Fjord is a long bay in the south coast of South Georgia; it is a mile wide and recedes north-westwards seven miles, entered immediately north of Nattriss Head along the south-east coast of the island.

The fjord was charted by the Second German Antarctic Expedition, 1911–12 and named for Professor Erich von Drygalski, the leader of the First German Antarctica Expedition in 1901. (Read more)
