Royal Oak is a small village in County Carlow, on the west side of the River Barrow, across from Bagenalstown. It is t be found off the old N9 road (now the R448 road) from Naas to Waterford.
The village is insistent that it is a village of itself and not a part of Bagenalstown.
Royal Oak is within the townland of Clorusk (a name from the Irish Cloch Rusc, meaning 'Stone house of the moor/marsh').[1]
