Bird Rock Point
Bird Rock Point is a headland at the south-easternmost point of Providenciales, the most populous of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The point is one of the last remaining undeveloped areas at the east end of the island. It contains an attractive area of coastal coppice woodland: a feature once common on Providenciales. There are some interesting rocky, mangrove habitats and small sandy coves along the coastal of the point, and coral and sea grass beds just offshore.
The mangroves are an important source of nutrients and provide shelter for many juvenile species of fish associated with this area.
The Turks and Caicos National Trust cares for the reserve and maintains a trail through the woods to the sea.
The reserve, 'Bird Rock Point Heritage Field Road' covers about 111 acres and is hemmed in to landward by residential development, and on the sea by the conch farm and the Caicos Banks.
There is a 1.3-mile trail that ends opposite Bird Rock a short distance off the south coast.
