Location of the Wight Bank

Wight Bank is a small, wholly submerged atoll structure in the south-west of the Chagos Archipelago in the British Indian Ocean Territory. It is located four miles to the south-east off the southeastern tip of Pitt Bank.

The bank is just half a mile in diameter, and its total area is about one square mile. The closest piece of land is Île Sudest of Egmont Atoll, fifty miles to the north-north-west. Diego Garcia is 58 miles to the east.

Wight Bank was first reported in 1886.
