Knolton is a hamlet in Flintshire close to the border with Shropshire.[1] It forms a township of the ancient parish of Overton, 5½ miles north-east of Chirk.[2]
The Kynaston family has its seat at Knolton Hall,[2] a Grade-II* listed building.[3]
The Trotting Mare Inn, a public house in Knolton, has the distinction of being in Flintshire, while its adjacent car park is in Shropshire.[4]
