Hale Common is a farming hamlet on the Isle of Wight, Hampshire. It is in the Arreton Valley on the A3056 road that runs from Newport to Shanklin, and is found in particular between Lake and Arreton, north-east of Bathingbourne and north-west of Branstone.

The lands of Hale Common are largely covered with greenhouses, cultivating strawberries, asparagus and much else besides.

About the village

The local pub is "The Fighting Cocks" pub.[1] There is a strawberry farm in Hale Common, called Hollands Strawberry Farm. Hollands Strawberry Farm has a shop, and operates a pick-your-own in season.

There are two fishing lakes in Hale Common, called the Hale Manor lakes. One is available for those who purchase a "day ticket" and the other allows fishing by those members of a syndicate.[2][3] These lakes are the site of a wetland restoration project by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
