Dean is a an ancient parish in the Stodden Hundred of Bedfordshire, adjacent to the borders with Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire. It comprises the villages of Upper Dean and Lower Dean, which together with Shelton form the civil parish of Dean and Shelton.

Lower Dean lies closer to the tri-point of Bedfordshire, Huntingdonshire and Northamptonshire than Upper Dean, and is situated on the River Til. It has a former Methodist chapel.
