Training at Paramali, in Akrotiri and Dhekelia

Paramali Paramali is a village on the south coast of the island of Cyprus, in the Western Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, though its parish (or village district) is wider, stretching from the shore of Episkopi Bay northwards and divided roughly equally between the Sovereign Base Area and the Republic of Cyprus. The original village settlement (towards the north of the parish) was majority Turkish-Cypriot, but the after the intercommunal violence of the early 1960s, both populations left. The village was abandoned and it is now mainly used by British Forces Cyprus for exercises. (Read more)
