The Cobb, Lyme Regis, Dorset

Lyme Regis Lyme Regis is a pretty, coastal town in the very west of Dorset, known as "The Pearl of Dorset". It is a town known for seaside holidays and fossils; indeed in the shops of Lyme one is as likely to find an ammonite as a bucket and spade. The centre of the town is where Broad Street tumbles down to the sea, while to the west is the harbour, the seafront between the two filled with hotels, B&Bs, holiday facilites and grand residences. At the harbour is the town's famous harbour wall, "The Cobb", celebrated in literature. (Read more)
