Haugh of Glass is a hamlet on the border of Banffshire with Aberdeenshire, six miles west of Huntly (in the latter county). The hamlet is on a stream known as the Markie Water, just before it enters the River Deveron: the Markie Water here marks part of the county border and while most of the houses in the hamlet are on the south bank in Banffshire, it spreads to both banks.
