Merthyr Hundred
Merthyr Hundred is one of the hundreds of Brecknockshire, adjacent to the border with Carmarthenshire. It is situated in the centre of the county, bounded to the north by Builth Hundred; to the east by Talgarth Hundred; to the south-east by Penkelly Hundred; to the south by Devynnock Hundred; and to the west by Carmarthenshire. Including those parts of Brecon north of the River Usk, it had a population of 8,017 in 2011.
It comprises the ancient parishes of:

- Castle Inn (ex. par.)
- Garthbrengy (part)*
- Llanddew (part)*
- Llandefaelog Fach
- Llandelio'r Fan
- Llanfihangel Nant Bran
