The Guildford Guildhall is a Guildhall standing on the High Street of Guildford, the county town of Surrey. It is a Grade I listed building.[1]
History
The Guildhall was built around 1550, and was initially used as a courtroom.[1] The Council Chamber was added in 1683.[1]
The building facade was also constructed in 1683 and features an iconic projected clock.[1] The clock was presented to the Council by a London clockmaker, John Aylward, in return for being allowed to trade in the borough.[2]
