Tinnakill Castle, also known as Tynekill, is a ruined castle in the parish of Coolbanagher, in the Barony of Portnahinch in County Laois.
The castle was built around 1450 by Eoin Carragh MacDonnell ('John the Scabbed'), on the site of a previous castle.[1][2]
The name of the castle is from the Irish Tigh na Coille, meaning 'House of the Wood'.
