Martinstown, also known as Winterborne St Martin, is a village in south-western Dorset, four miles south-west of the county town, Dorchester. In the centre of the village stands the twelfth century parish church, St Martin's

Bronze Age barrows, including Clandon Barrow, ring the village. Beside it too rises Maiden Castle, a vast hill-fort which resisted Claudius. (Read more)
