Clonmel

Clonmel is the county town of County Tipperary, and stands at the county's border with County Waterford, here marked by the River Suir. Clonmel, in the Barony of Iffa and Offa East, is the largest town in its county, with a population of 15,793 recorded in 2006.

The town is noted in Irish history for its resistance to the Cromwellian army which sacked both Drogheda and Wexford. (Read more)
