Farne Islands

The Farne Islands are a group of uninhabited islands off the coast of Northumberland.

There are between fifteen and twenty islands depending on the state of the tide, scattered about a mile and a half to five miles from the mainland and divided into two groups, the Inner Group and the Outer Group. The two groups are separated by Staple Sound. Despite its name, Lindisfarne is not generally considered part of the Farne Islands, lying on its own away to the north. (Read more)
