Dunragit

Dunragit is a village in Wigtownshire, on the A75 road between Stranraer and Glenluce. It is within the parish of Old Luce.

The modern village grew up around the west gate of Dunragit House, an 18th-century country house, though there is evidence of Neolithic settlement in the area, and in the Dark Ages this place may have gained its name as an outpost fort of the Kingdom of Rheged. (Read more)
