House of the Binns, West Lothian

House of the Binns

House of the Binns at Mannerston in West Lothian is a historic house; an early seventeenth century mansion which has long been the seat of the Dalyell family. It is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

The estate is situated on two hills, set in two hundred acres of parkland, and the house enjoys panoramic views, of the Central Lowlands and to the north, across the River Forth to the Highlands, and south over the Pentland Hills. The house contains a collection of porcelain, furniture, and portraits tracing the family's lives and interests through the centuries. (Read more)
