Babeny is a hamlet in Devon, in the midst of Dartmoor, at the end of a dead-end lane.

This a landscape of bleak hills, with the remains of ancient habitations scattered on the hillsides. The Walla Brook runs down through the village and joins the East Dart river immediately below the village, which river in turn joins the West Dart to create the River Dart itself a mile and a half to the south at Dartmeet.
