Nightingale Island, part of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha

Nightingale Island Nightingale Island is an active volcanic island in the South Atlantic Ocean, just over one square mile in area and part of the Tristan da Cunha group of islands, which are part of the overseas territory of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. This island is the largest of the Nightingale Islands, which group also includes islets Middle Island and Stoltenhoff Island. All three are uninhabited, but are regularly visited for scientific purposes and research. (Read more)
