Owey Island is an abandoned island of County Donegal lying out in the in the wide Atlantic Ocean, just over a mile and a half off the mainland of the county, where the nearest village is Kincasslagh. The name of the island is from the Irish Uaigh, meaning "Cave". (Read more)
