Aran Islands The Aran Islands are a group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay, on the west coast of Ireland, famed for their wild beauty, their remoteness and their distinct, self-reliant native culture (even if most widely appreciated from the Aran sweater knitted here). The islands, Inishmore, Inishmaan and Inisheer, constitute the Barony of Aran in County Galway, and remain principally Irish-speaking. (Read more)
