Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough is a large industrial town in the North Riding of Yorkshire, standing on the south bank of the River Tees. Developed as a new great hope of the Industrial Revolution, the town is even now trying to catch up with its early promises.

To the northeast of Middlesbrough lies the Tees Estuary, approximately six miles away. A few miles to the south lies the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Teesport, Britain's third largest port, is three miles to the east. (Read more)
