North Leverton with Habblethorpe

North Leverton with Habblesthorpe is a village in north-eastern Nottinghamshire, half a mile north of South Leverton, five and a half miles east of Retford and close to the Lincolnshire border, marked here by the River Trent, two miles to the east of the village. On the riverbank is the site of a Roman fort, Segelocum.

Unlike other places with a joint name, this village is known inseparably as 'North Leverton with Habblesthorpe': it was formed from two manors whose hamlets have long since amalgamated indistinguishably. (Read more)
