Alexandria

Alexandria is a town in Dunbartonshire. It stands on the River Leven, four miles north-west of Dumbarton. It is the largest town in the Vale of Leven, the others being Balloch, Renton, Jamestown and Bonhill, which together are the home of 20,000 souls.

Alexandria was founded as an industrial town in the 19th century, but suffered a town centre redevelopment in the 1970s. (Read more)
