Tuam

Tuam is a town in County Galway, and the largest in the county after the City of Galway itself, which is twenty miles to the south. The town became increasingly important in the 11th and 12th centuries in political and religious aspects of Ireland, and was the seat of an archbishop until the 19th century reforms of the Church of Ireland.
