Castle of Mey

The Castle of Mey stands on the north coast of Caithness, about six miles west of John o' Groats. In fine weather there are views from the castle north to the islands of Orkney. Once a Sinclair stronghold, it was bought by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and is today held on a trust, serving as an occasional royal residence. (Read more)
