Mount Tenniel is a mountain of 5,330 feet on the east coast of Palmer Land in the British Antarctic Territory. It stands seven nautical miles west-northwest of the mouth of the Clifford Glacier.
This mountain was discovered in 1936 by a sledge party of the British Graham Land Expedition, commanded by Rymill. During 1947 it was photographed from the air by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition under Ronne, who in conjunction with the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey charted it from the ground.
The mountain was named in 1952 by Sir Miles Clifford, Governor of the Falkland Islands, for his great-uncle Sir John Tenniel, 1820–1914, a noted illustrating artist, humourist, and political cartoonist.
