Lambton is a village in County Durham which has become a barely distinguishable part of Washington.

The village stands lies about two miles north-east of Chester-le-Street. It is historically linked to the Lambton family, Lambton Castle and in legend it was the home of the Lambton Worm.

New Lambton is located just a few miles from the Lambton estate.
