The River Loy in Glen Loy

The River Loy is a tributrary of the River Lochy which in part forms the border between Argyllshire and Inverness-shire.

It rises in the Locheil Forest and flows in a south-easterly direction, through Glen Loy, and empties into the River Lochy, two miles south-west of Gairlochy.

On the lower reach, just before emptying into the Lochy, it passes under the B8004 road bridge and the Glen Loy Aqueduct‎ which carries the Caledonian Canal above.
