The River Ashburn near Ashburton

The River Ashburn flows through the moors of Dartmoor in Devon, through the Ashburton valley to the River Dart.

The river rises near Rippon Tor on Horridge Common at a height of 1,200 feet, from where it flows quickly down a steep river valley; a typical, fast flowing, clean Dartmoor river.[1]

The river passes through woods and under stone bridges before coming into Ashburton on the north side of town. It runs by Ashburton Town Hall, then turns west and heading out of town next to the A38 road. The Ashburn joins the Dart near Buckfastleigh.
