Uppington is a township of the ancient parish of Alberbury in Montgomeryshire, adjacent to the border with Shropshire. It is entirely rural with Heldre Hill dominating its southern confines. The railway line from Welshpool to Shrewsbury passes through to the north.

It was made into a civil parish in 1866, but was merged into that of Middletown in 1933.
