Dobwalls is a village in south-eastern Cornwall, and which is to be found three miles west of Liskeard.
The name is spelt Dubwalls on Bartholomew's map and Black's Guide of 1879.
The A38 trunk road ran through the village until the bypass was opened on 19 December 2008.[1][2]
The bypass has two of the most elaborate bat bridges built so far in the United Kingdom.[3] Twelve native species of bats are found in the area.[4]
Until 2006, the Dobwalls Adventure Park tourist attraction was located north of the village.
Society
The Dobwalls By-Pass has caused a major loss of passing trade to the village, though a calmer street. The community has built an active village life. A Community Group was formed in the late 2008, since then there has been many goings on in the village, including the return of Carnival Week, and so many more fun filled activities for the community.
