Ferryden is a village in Angus, sitting immediately south of Montrose, and separated form the town by the tidal stretch of the South Esk which empties the Montrose Basin into the sea.
Rossie Island, no longer and island, is the western part of the village, where the two viaducts, one by road and one by rail, cross the waters.
There is a King George V Playing Field in the village.
