Church at Dron

Dron is a parish in south-east Perthshire, 1½ miles south-east of Bridge of Earn adjacent to the border with Fife. The parish lies a mile south of the River Earn and one of its tributaries, the River Farg forms the southern boundary and the county border with Fife.

The name in the Gaelic tongue signifies a projection, a term descriptive of the locality in which the church and manse are placed. The former parish church was built about the year 1816, and is a plain neat edifice, beautifully situated on an eminence at the base of the Ochils.
