Kincardine, Perthshire

Kincardine or Kincardine in Monteith is a parish in southern Perthshire adjacent to the border with Stirlingshire. It is situated two miles south-west of Doune and contains the villages of Thornhill, Kirklane and Woodlane. This parish, of which the name is of very uncertain etymology, is pleasantly situated in the vale of Monteith.
