Castel is a parish on Guernsey, on the north coast of the island: it is the largest parish in Guernsey in terms of area.

Castel hosts the North Show and Battle of Flowers in August, annually. It has several beaches including the popular Cobo, Grandes Rocques and Vazon Bay (popular surfing beach).

The old Guernésiais nickname for people from Castel was ânes pur sàng.

Parish church

Menhir in the churchyard

The parish church of St Marie de Castel is notable for its preserved mediæval fresco and for the presence of a pre-Christian neolithic menhir in the churchyard, overlooking the Bas Pas. It is thought to be carved to represent a female fertility symbol.

Sport and leisure

La Grande Mare, a hotel and golf club, is in the parish

The parish has a King George V Playing Field – the only one on the Channel Islands.
